Dear Mr Taylor,

I have just finished reading your book Crash as part of our group literacy circle. I really enjoyed it and I give it a 5 out of 5 star rating.

I like the way that each chapter flickers by one chapter being about the crash and one being about what life is like at home.

This made me wonder what part of NZ this book is made from. It also made me wonder how long it took you to complete the whole book.

Maybe next time you could describe what the car and the characters looked like.

Pig Hospital Entrance

For this reading task we got told to create and make a pig farm hospital for pigs that are made for heart transplants and heart valves.

Animal Human Hybrids

Animal human hybrids is a thing that only happens with surgery or if you create a baby in a lab. These people have had multiple surgeries to do things that either went wrong or they wanted to look like animals read more to know more about hat happened above.

About The Heart

Bad Dad Chapters 3, 4, 5

Chapter 3

Frank held his fathers hand as the ambulance rushed to the hospital. He had to have his right leg amputated on. Dad was in a lot of pain but still said he would not want to miss seeing him grow up. She cried " Oh Gilbert ". The doctors set up a portable bed beside his fathers. Thy got home and found a note saying I am sorry.

Chapter 4

Why is she sorry asked Frank. She is not coming back said Gilbert. They cried and cried until they could not cry no more. Frank would not stop thinking about her and still loved her. Gilbert lost everything they track owners banded him from the track. Dad was used to being a hero but now he was more like a zero. Dad would not leave the flat and they had to pay for everything. His father had stolen a toy race car track. Big men would come in and take stuff they think will be valuable.

Chapter 5

He thought he had the best father ever. He got a job. His job was driving. Frank thought it was banger racing. He will be earning money and driving fast. He was going to try to buy a new toy race car truck. He was going to be similar to a police. Frank wanted to be told because it was TOP SECRET. He looked concerned and Frank was extremely worried about his father. He kept on making promises that he could not keep. His father told him to go to bed early so he got upset. Dad would hold his son really tight when something was wrong.

Bad Dad

Chapter 1

Franks dad was a banger racer it is a dangerous sport cars would crash into each other. His car was called queenie. His dad was the best banger racer ever. Frank was giving everything because of his father. He really wanted to go to watch his father race. But his dad would not let him because he did not want his son to see him get hurt. People in the stands would get hurt if the cars crashed into the stand. Frank would always run to the race and sit on all the broken cars.


Chapter 2

The night if the accident something was wrong with his dads car. Dad struggled to start and control his car. Frank screamed DAD when his dads car blew up. His car rolled over and over and over. Someone crashed into his car and sent him flying. One car exploded into flames. He promised his dad would be alright but he could not keep that promise.

People say that they are more alert than before after popping bubble wrap. It is also scientifically proven that fidgeting can help with stress just like popping bubble wrap. Your brain is wired to enjoy bubble wrap. Popping bubble wrap can make your muscles less tense. It also reduces stress and anxiety. The company that created bubble wrap recently discovered a bubble wrap that does not pop. It is called iBubble wrap. This came out in 2015. IBubble wrap is mainly used for shipping packages and protecting them when you have to move. Dont worry the pop able bubble wrap is still on the market. You can use bubble wrap for multiple things you can use it on your windshield to stop it from getting frosty 

Poems

 For reading I chose to do Poems.We had to find a poem online r create one ourselves and fond pictures to go with it. The first one is like if you're happy and you know it. The second one is one I made for my Dad. The third is one I made for my Mum, The fourth is on autumn. The fifth one is about popcorn being made. The sixths one is about a beehive. The seventh and eighth, Ninth, Tenth are some on Mirror am I pretty yet.  The Eleventh one is about freedom. The next one is about Best Friends. The last one is inspired by Winnie the Pooh and by far my Favourite.

No No Noe

This story is about a girl called Noe ( Pronounced - No ey ). Her favourite word is no because it drives people crazy. If she got asked to do something at home she would just say no. But at school she would throw things at other people and when she got told to do something she would say no. When anyone looked at her she smirked. She would never say yes because that is a boring word but everyone was determine to make her say yes. All of her teachers went missing or would hit themselves. She was super happy that she was determine to always say no. Raj kept asking her if she wanted liquorice all sorts. He put the word not in front of the words to many times so she walked out of the store. Mr Potts the Gardener was going to tell the teachers to put the word not in front of everything. He then went to change every single sign. The whole school had a meeting to tell them the plan. When everyone was asking questions she screamed. Then she ran to the buildings and saw the signs and screamed again. She ran into her English class where all the teachers started asking questions. Then the head mistress asked if he wanted everyone to stop. She screamed yes. She now loves the word yes. 

Tandy's Tantrums

Each day during this holiday David Williams will read one of his many stories today he read Tandy's Tantrums. This book is from The worlds worst children 3 book.

This is my summery of the book.

Tandy is a girl who has a tantrum over everything. She will even have a tantrum because she has not had one for a while Her tantrums were so loud that the house was shaking like an earthquake. She demanded for ice cream so her parents gave in and gave her one scoop of every flavour. So her dad brought a gift for them both. The gift was sound cancelling earmuffs. They were enjoying some peace and quiet when Tandy started having a tantrum but they could not hear her so she went down to confront them both.She was forced to say please with her sentence.She then stole some speakers to have a tantrum into so it was so deafening. Her parents then went on a trip to the other side of the world in Australia so the could not hear their lovely daughters tantrums.

Crime Scene Investigation

2020 way to solve a crime and what's different from 1888 How they work out the crime In a crime scene they get every piece of evidence at lighting speed. They would then get any fingerprints, DNA, Poison drugs, Bullets, fibers, hair and other chemicals and things needed to commit the crime. They also have to interview anyone who was around at the time to make sure the information that they had tracked was correct. They would then have to check the cameras and see if there was anything that they could see that they didn’t already know. What we have different compared to 1888 is: We have cameras We have more technology What they had in 1888 They had no technology or anything other than clues, pencil and paper . How they work out the crime They would collect evidence and then check for fingerprints. They would then guard the place of the crime for days in case the murderer came back.

Half Labrador Half Wolf Drawing

At school we are reading The Bone Tiki, it is about a boy called Matt who takes the tiki that his nanny Y said he could have when she died. But a warrior wants the Tiki so then the chase is on. My drawing is half Wolf and Half Labrador because the Labrador acts like a wolf when he is trying to protect Matt.

The BFG

2019 Year 7

This year I have achieved lots like had to principles awards and been a leader by watching out for little kids in the playground.                                                       


 I have also achieved wet day monitor which means I go to a class and watch the  kids while the teachers get some food.


This year we also went on camp to Hamner Springs were we went to the hot pools. The food we had was amazing my favourite food would have to be the burgers.


The year 7's and prefects went to leadership day at Spencer park. It  was so much fun we did a range of activity's the most challenging was walking around a rope with others holding on to sides it was all about trust. My favourite on was walking up a slide in socks.


Swimming this year has been great at the start of the year we had swimming sports and now it is all about swim safety. I love to wear life jackets that way I know I will be kept safe in the water and have no chance in drowning if the life jacket fits me.


This year has been great I have made new friends and had an amazing year. Next year I want to try make more friends and not be so shy.

Argument On if Te Reo Maori should be taught in school.

This is Mine and my friend Carma's argument on if we think Te Reo Maori should be taught in schools.

Hi my name is Maia and I believe that Te Reo Maori should be compulsory.

Hi my name is Carma and I think that Te Reo Maori is a waste of time and in schools it should not be taught. 

Well I think that it should be taught because it is part of NZ language and it is a fun language to be taught.

 Well it doesn't matter if it’s fun because its school but if you want to learn Maori join a kapa haka group and if we start teaching Maori another subject will be knocked out say maths gets knocked out you will never succeed in life

Well you could do Maori twice a week and genius hour once then Inquiry twice it works out like pumpkin in pie. And kapa Haka is a waste of time you miss out on precious learning time.

Well you shouldn’t have to sacrifice precious hours of school just for a stupid language and if we started learning Maori everyone will talk it and then exchange students would not understand a thing

Well if they are from a different country they can learn English then learn Te Reo Maori it is so simple or you just don’t teach them English problem solved.

Well they shouldn’t have to learn a completely new language so ha 

No ha on you because I have better reasons and you can’t expect them to only speak one language their whole life can you.

Book Week 2019

  It was really cool and fun and I loved how creative we were as a class.

I think it went great and it was really fun. I can't wait for the next book week.
We also had a book fair that had lots of books bought in the first few days that we had to get a restock.
My class themed our display on Roald Dahl. The library had a theme of dinosaurs.

For the library display my class made dinosaur fossils from salt dough.
All around the school there were many of different themes like the jungle book.
One day there was a grandparent t-rex afternoon I made some cookies for the grandparent's.
One night there was a bedtime story evening for years 1-4.

My way of traveling without a vehicle.
